Striped Macassar Ebony is a hardwood used for sides and backs. It comes from East Indonesia and is highly sought for both its striking appearance as well as its tone. Ebony is a dense wood, therefore it is a little heavier than most tone woods but this only serves to enhance it’s rich tone. The ebony imparts bass notes that are full, yet not overpowering.
